TextTitan.com is a service that makes use of the built in Outlook Mobile Service (OMS)
in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, allowing users to send SMS (Text) messages to
mobile phones directly through Outlook 2007.

What is a SMS? |

|

SMS stands for Short Message Service and is more commonly known as text messaging. SMS allows you to send up to 160 characters to or from a SMS enabled cellular device.

How does this work again? |
|
|
| |
It's pretty straight forward. TextTitan has access to a dedicated SMS aggregator which operates under the short 90947. Since TextTitan pays for this access, guaranteed reliability and service support with the aggregator are provided. Your message is sent through Outlook 2007 to TextTitan's servers where they are distributed to the aggregator and out on the cellular carrier's network to your intended recipients.

How do I configure Outlook 2007 for this service? |

To configure outlook go to Tools > Account Settings
Then Click New.
Other > Outlook Mobile Service (Text Messaging)
Then enter the required information.
Then test to verify connectivity.
*ONCE OUTLOOK HAS TESTED SUCCESSFULLY IT MUST BE RESTARTED*
After restarting the Text Message menu item will appear.

How do I send calendar notifications / email forwarding? |

Go to the menu and select Tools > Options
Under Preference > Mobile > Notifications
Select the appropriate check boxes for either calendar notifications, email forwarding, or both.

What is a credit? |

A credit is the unit of exchange here at TextTitan. One credit allows you to send one SMS message up to 160 characters in English. Credits also never expire.

Simply login and go to your members panel where your remaining credits will be displayed. You will also receive an email reminder when your credits are low.
